Spoken Word Music Performer, Writer, and Creative Producer

Curating Community, Collaborating Creatively, and Elevating Through Spoken Word Music Spells

Elle De Lyon is a Canadian-based writer, spoken word music performer, and creative producer redefining what it means to create art that heals. She grew up in Scarborough, Ontario—within the vibrant and resilient east end of Toronto—and her music is a powerful fusion of poetry, melody, and mantra: spoken word music spells crafted to transmute pain into power and guide listeners on their own journey of self-mastery. Her latest single, Enough – Paula’s Interlude, is a deeply personal ode to her inner child—an anthem of affirmation and restoration written to disrupt self-doubt and affirm self-worth as part of claiming one’s final form.

Elle’s journey with R.I.S.E Edutainment, an award-winning community arts organization, began over 13 years ago—as an audience member moved by the power of the mic. From volunteering to animate and organize the community, she stepped into leadership as Project Manager of the flagship open mic in 2019, and eventually became its host. Today, she serves as Program Director, helping artists connect purpose to passion and grow within a thriving, intentional creative ecosystem.

Her debut project, L-Y-O-N: Lift Yourself Over Negativity, began as a poetry spellbook and blossomed into a soundtrack and EP—an immersive experience weaving meditations, lyrics, and interactive prompts into a sonic and literary journey. It serves as both a guide and a tool for self-mastery—encouraging readers and listeners to reflect, write, chant, and cast their own spells of transformation. Her work is deeply rooted in lived experience as a Black disabled woman, artist, and community leader dedicated to turning personal evolution into collective liberation.

Elle is also the founder of PDA Global Media, her social enterprise that curates creative economies rooted in mentorship, energy exchange, and community care. She co-directs Our Crib Uncut, a music media incubator that amplifies underrepresented voices, and leads workshops, panels, and grant-writing intensives across the country. Her website features a growing archive of performances, productions, speaking engagements, and creative projects she’s created, hosted, or consulted on.

From stages to classrooms, grant panels to studio sessions, Elle De Lyon is building the platforms that didn’t exist when she was growing up. Up next: a full album release, a touring version of L-Y-O-N, and new digital and live programs designed to elevate emerging creatives from marginalized communities.
